Iva May Hayward, age 84, formerly of Brown City, died August 17, 1993 in Lapeer.
She was born May 21, 1909 in Maple Valley Township to Sylvester and jenny (Layman) Clark. She graduated from the Brown City High School Class of 1925 and attended Eastern Michigan University and Western Michigan University. She married Clarence Hayward in 1937.
She was a school teacher and a retired employee from the Michigan Department of Social Services. In 1985, she moved to Taylor to live with her nephew and his wife, Allan and Anita Clark. She resided there until Jul 1991.
She is survived by three nephews, Allan and Keith Clark of Taylor and Robert Clark of Monroe; two nieces Cynthia Bantau of Taylor and Terry Farrant of Kennesaw, GA; three foster grandsons, Larry and Michael Clark of Naples, FL and Bill Clark of Capac; four foster granddaughters, Karen Marshall and Kim Ramseyer of Lapeer, Kyle Bennett of North Branch and Kelly Brinker of Imlay City; and two sisters-in-law, Irene Hayward Cornell and Elnora Payne.
Her husband Clarence and two brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Delbert Hayward, predeceased her.
Visitation was Thu at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City. Funeral Services were Fri, with the Rev. James Walker of Brown City United Methodist churches officiating. Burial was in Omard Cemetery.
