Iva Lanning of Manton died Wed, August 21, 1991, in Kalkaska after a short illness. She was 93.
She was born September 5, 1897, in Adams County, IN, as Iva Kimbel. She married Charles Lanning on Jul 12, 1911, in Manton.
Mrs. Lanning came to Bloomfield Township in 1910 and had been a resident of Manton since then. She served as director of the Pleasant Hill School, was a former member of the Manton Kitchen Band and of the United Bretheren Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo.
Mrs. Lanning was a resident of the Kalkaska Long Term Care Facility for the last four years.
Survivors include a son, Lloyd of Traverse City; a daughter, Maxine Williams of Fife Lake; eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond; a son, Earl and by two infant sons, Paul and Charles.
Funeral Services are 1pm Fri at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Manton, the Rev. Robert Lanning officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Township Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the funeral home.
