Iva J Ehrhart, 76, of Kalkaska, passed away on Fri, Oct 10, 2003, at her home after fighting a stoic battle against lung cancer for the past 13 months.
She was born Oct 28, 1926, in Dearborn, the daughter of Alfred J and Iva Emma (Prehn) Gottman.
Iva married Donald F Ehrhart on Dec 4, 1944, in Boston, MA. They were residents of Kalkaska since the fall of 1995, moving from Houghton Lake.
Iva was a lifetime member of Eastern Star and was a member of Kalkaska United Methodist Church. Iva and Don would have celebrated 59 years of marriage in December.
Iva enjoyed needlework and reading. She especially loved being with her family, grandchildren, and great granddaughters.
Iva is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter, Gayle L (Alfred) DeOtte of Fife Lake; grandchildren, Amy Jean DeOtte (John) Taranko of Ludington, David Christian DeOtte of Seattle, WA, and Ann Louise DeOtte of Fife Lake; and two great grandchildren, Emma Emma Ehrhart Taranko and Grace DeOtte Taranko, both of Ludington.
A memorial service was held on Mon, Oct 13, at the Kalkaska United Methodist Church. The Rev. Robert Stark officiated. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska. Memorials may be given in behalf of Iva to North Country Hospice, PO Box 1087, Kalkaska, MI 49646.
