Irving D. Fry, 81, a lifelong resident of Kalkaska County, die early Wed, Apr 15, 1992 at his residence.
Mr. Fry was a graduate of Kalkaska High School and Kalkaska County Normal, and taught school for three years at the Weaver School near Fife Lake. For many years, he was superintendent of the Kalkaska County Road Commission prior to his retirement in 1973. He was a member of the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church, and a former member of the Kalkaska County Building Authority. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming.
Mr. Fry was born in Orange Township on Aug 2, 1910 to Claud and Lotta McKinnis Fry. On Jun 6, 1936, in Traverse City, he was united in marriage with Doris Besaw who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dennis Fry and Douglas Fry both of Kalkaska; two daughters, Bonnie Ball and Barbara Fry both of Kalkaska; one brother, Vernon Fry of Kalkaska; one sister, Gertrude Wood of Kalkaska; 10 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sat, Apr 18, 1992, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Richard Jones and Rev. William Zelinko officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
