Mrs. Irene V. Allen, 79, of Kalkaska, died Tue, Oct 22, 1991 at Grand Traverse Community Hospital.
Mrs. Allen resided in Howard City prior to moving to Kalkaska in 1980. She was affiliated with the Seventh Day Adventist Church and had been active in the Dorcas Society. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and houseplants.
Mrs. Allen was born in Lansing on Mar 6, 1912, daughter of the late Lucien and Alga Calhoun Lownsbery. On Sep 16, 1933, in Bryan, OH, she was united in marriage with Thomas Allen who preceded her in death on Jul 12, 1979.
Surviving are one son, William (and wife Nancy) Allen of Kalkaska; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Linda) Graves of Muskegon; two brothers, Leonard Lownsbery of Leroy and Lucien Lownsbery of Vancouver, WA; one sister, Gladys Bennett of Evart; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Fri, Oct 25, 1991 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Pastor David Stramel officiated. Burial was in Reynolds Cemetery, Howard City.
