Ilene P. Woodman, 82, of South Boardman, passed away on Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Ilene was born March 19, 1921, in Cornwell, England, the daughter of William and Emily (Stansbridge) James. In May of 1944, she married Merwyn Woodman in Detroit.
The couple lived in Dearborn Heights before moving to South Boardman in 1976. Ilene was a member of the American Legion, the Senior Citizens, the historical society, and the United Methodist Church, all in South Boardman.
Ilene is survived by her children, Merlene S. (George) Ramsey of Melvindale and David W. (Sue) Woodman of Dearborn Heights; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Delphine Themean of Royal Oak, Kathlene Peterson of Dearborn; and brother, William (Gail) James of Melvindale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merwyn.
Visitation was Sept. 18 at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
A funeral service was conducted on Sept. 19 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Stark officiating. Interment followed at the Boardman Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in behalf of Ilene may be directed to the Humane Society of Kalkaska or to the South Boardman United Methodist Church.
