Hervey J Bellemore, 83, of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Elkhart, died at 2:55 pm Friday in Leesburg Nursing Center. Mr. Bellemore retired as supervisor from W.T. Armstrong. He was born Jul 16, 1911, in Oakville, CT, and lived in Elkhart from 1943 to 1974, moving to Florida in 1974. His first wife, Mary L preceded him in death. He then married Marie Slentz. She survives with two daughters, Sister Linda Bellemore, CSC, of South Bend and Marylee Wignall of Shreveport, LA; four sons, Dennis G and Phillip J both of Watkins Glen, NY, Paul H of McMinnville, OR, and David P of Bright, IN; a stepdaughter, Donna Darling of Fayetteville, AR; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Beatrice Benson of Atlanta. A son, Carl J, died in 1975. He was a member of St Paul’s Catholic Church, Leesburg, Knights of Columbus, and Army National Guard.
Services will be at 11 am Tuesday in St Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Burial will be in St Vincent Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Monday in Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, where the rosary will be said at 7:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry With the Poor, Notre Dame, or Elkhart Girl Scout Council.
