Herbert N. Etzcorn, 77, of South Boardman, died Mon, Jan 30, 1995, at his residence.
Mr. Etzcorn had been a lifelong resident of Kalkaska County. He farmed for many years, and was then employed by Wayne Wire cloth Products prior to his retirement in 1982. He served on the Orange Township Board for 26 years, and was a member of the Farm Bureau and a former 4-H leader. He enjoyed woodworking.
Mr. Etzcorn was born in DeKalb County, IN, on Jul 23, 1917, to Herbert and Minnie Pankop Etzcorn. On Apr 18, 1941, in South Boardman, he was united in marriage with Ruth Hall who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Marilyn) Zirkle of South Boardman; one brother, Kenneth Etzcorn of Ft. Wayne, IN; one sister, Doris Prewitt of Tucson, AZ; one grandson, Jeff of New Braunfels, TX; and three stepgrandchildren, Michael Zirkle of March A.F. Base, CA, and Michelle Wilson and Daniel Zirkle both of Denver, CO.
Funeral services were held Fri, Feb 3, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. LeRoy Dimon officiated. Burial was in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Forest Area High School Woodworking Class will be appreciated.
