Funeral services for Steven Forton, age 57, a former resident of this city, who passed away here Sun, will be held Wed afternoon at 2:30 at the Sampson Funeral Home, Dr. Howard Towne, pastor of the First Congregational church officiating. Burial will be made in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Forton was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Forton, pioneer residents of Grand Traverse region. He was engaged in the restaurant business in Detroit until the first World War, after which he was employed by the Continental Motor Company, and for the past four years, at the Hudson Motor Co.
Surviving besides his widow, are: two daughters, Mrs. Richard Lobell of Benton Harbor and Miss Mary Lou Forton of Detroit; one brother, Jesse of this city; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Friedrich of Adrian, Mrs. Blanche Pratt and Mrs. Mattie Stites of Detroit, and several nieces and nephews. His parents, a brother and five sisters preceded him in death.
