Former Akronite Henry R Halsey, 86, died Sun at Glenn View Manor Nursing Home, Youngstown, after a nine month illness.
Born in Ada, OH, Mr. Halsey lived in Akron 48 years before moving to Youngstown five years ago. He was an elevator operator at Firestone for 34 years before retiring in 1951. He was a member of Kenmore Methodist Church, Firestone 20 year Club and Barberton Eagles Aerie 562.
He leaves his wife, Martha; a daughter, Ethel Graham, Youngstown; two sisters, Mrs. Farie Roberts and Mrs. Irene Irwin both of Cuyahoga Falls; a brother, Carl, Ada, and one grandchild.
Services will be 1 pm Wed at Prentice Kenmore Chapel, where friends may call from 7 to 9 pm Tue. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery.
