Helen L. Needler, 82, died at 10:38 p.m. Jan. 11, 2011, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 12, 1928, in Gridley, Calif., to John and Zelma Peterson, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 19. 1947, she married Richard E. Needler, who died Aug. 15, 2007.
Mrs. Needler was a 1946 graduate of Hartford City High School, Hartford City, Ind. She was a loving homemaker whose life was devoted to caring for her family, avidly following her grandchildren's activities and spending enjoyable time with friends. She was a member of Columbus Grove Christian Church. She was a lifelong member of the Thursday Night Bridge Club.
Survivors include a son, Dr. John (Kathleen) Needler, of Columbus Grove; a daughter, Beth (Herb) Huffman, of Columbus Grove; two brothers, Frank (Sue Anne) Dill, of Yorktown, Ind., and Harold (Marsha) Dill, of Hartford City, Ind.; a sister, Marijo (Theodore) Mayberry, of Columbus Grove; five grandchildren, Noah Needler, Hannah Needler (Larry) Halters, Sarah (Bradly) McCluer, Grace Needler and Clay (Lacey) Huffman; and two great-granddaughters, Ainsley and Reagan McCluer.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Dave Thompson and Pastor Denny Coates will officiate. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
