Mrs. Helen E. Parr, 87, of Kendallville, IN, died Wednesday evening Dec 31, 1997, at Shepherd of the Hills Nursing Home in Kendallville.
Mrs. Parr resided in South Milford, IN until 1966, when she moved to Kalkaska. She had been employed as a secretary at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center and the Soil Conservation District until retiring and returning to Indiana in 1985. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville and various ladies and bible study groups in the church. She was also a member of the South Milford Home Economics Club. She enjoyed reading, and traveling to visit relatives.
Mrs. Parr was born in Steuben County, IN on Jun 23, 1910, to Guy and Sara Davis Call. On Apr 6, 1936, in Arvilla, IN, she was united in marriage with Robert Parr who preceded her in death on Jan 11, 1974.
Surviving are sons William (Jean) Parr of Mt. Pleasant, TX, John Parr of South Milford, IN, and George (Diana) Parr of Huntertown, IN; daughters Louise (Don) Hinds of Kalkaska and Linda (Jacson) Matos of Houston, TX; brother Lyle Call of MO; sisters Dorothy Armestadt and Alice Gael, both of FL, and Christine Eddins of AL; nine grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
A son Frederick, a brother George and sisters Eula, Florence and Ruth preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Jan 5, 1998, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Pastor Daniel McVey officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
