Helen K. Williams, 92, passed away Aug 18, 2016, at her home in Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Assisted Living. She was born Mar 22, 1924 in Mishawaka, IN, the oldest of nine children to the late Walt and Amy (Spoor) Davis. Her earliest years were spent in Traverse City.
Helen earned her RN degree in 1945 and married the late Gene Williams of Fife Lake in 1946. She worked with him at various businesses, including a grocery store and gas station in Gaylord, insurance, sales, real estate, the oil & gas industry and as a RN in Cadillac, Traverse City, and Gaylord, as well as caring for family, friends, and neighbors.
Helen is survived by her daughter Janis Williams McFarland of Tuscon, AZ; sister Joan Corl of Grove City, OH; brother, Sam Davis of New Berlin, WI; 4 sisters-in law and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Helen will be Tue, Aug 23, 2016 at 11 am in the Clark Cemetery, Springfield Township, Kalkaska County. There will be a luncheon following the service at the Fife Lake American Legion.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
