Hayden B “Jiggs” Rees, 65, of 1950 E Dowling Road, Hastings, died Mon, Dec 20, 1993 at home.
Mr. Rees was born Jul 26, 1928 in Dowling to Kendall and Clara (Paul) Rees. He was a lifelong Dowling area resident and attended the Dowling School.
He served with the U.S. Army during WWII.
He was employed at Clark Equipment Co for 22 years, retiring in 1984. He had previously worked at Battle Creek Packaging Co, Eaton Corp, and Michigan Carton Co.
A member of Nashville Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 8260 and the Clark Retirees, he was a former member of the Dowling Library Board and the Dowling School Board.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and hunting for mushrooms.
He married the former Maryln M Stampfler on Jul 11, 1952. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Linda Dingerson of Saranac; sons, Gregory and Kendall Rees of Hastings; three grandchildren; a sister, Martha Allen of Dowling; and brothers, Wendell and Neale Rees of Battle Creek.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Gordon Rees.
Visitation from 7 to 9 pm today at Wren Funeral Home, Hastings. Services 11 am Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth R Vaught officiating. Burial in Dowling Cemetery. Memorials to Barry Community Hospice, Visiting Nurse Service of South Michigan, or Dowling Library.
