Harry L. Doyle, 91, of Traverse City, died Thu, Jul 28, 1994, at Traverse City Community Hospital.
Mr. Doyle moved to the Kalkaska/ Grand Traverse area in 1940 from Flint. He had been employed by Buick Motor Car Co., sold real estate and had worked at Trude Hardware. He served in the U.S. Army during WW1, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading.
Born on Nov 22, 1902, in Mason County, he was the son of John and Clara Mahler Doyle. In 1925, in Flint, he married Evelyn Wright who preceded him in death in 1968. In 1970, he was married to Edith Franke in Traverse City. She died in 1990.
Surviving are one daughter, Ruth Kniss of Kalkaska; three stepsons, Robert Franke, James Franke, and Jack Franke all of Traverse City; three step daughters, Elizabeth Pavlovic of Interlochen, Rosemary Schneider of Copemish, and Joanne Grennay of Spokane, WA; eight grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
One son, Carl Doyle, two brothers, Frank and Robert Doyle, one sister, Grace Gell, and one step son, William Franke, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Sat, Jul 30, 1994, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska E. Dan Johnson officiated. Burial was in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
