Harry G. Burke, 84, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Mar 11, 1995, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Burke moved to Kalkaska in 1934 from Elmira. He was employed as a trackman with the Penn Central Railroad prior to his retirement in 1972. He was a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ and the Odd Fellow Lodge.
Mr. Burke was born in Elmira on Mar 26, 1910 to Charles and Edith Keeley Burke. He married Florence Root in Ravenna on Oct 28, 1934. She preceded him in death on Sep 11, 1981.
Surviving are one son, Larry of Kalkaska; three daughters, Harriet Hill and Carolyn Foust both of Kalkaska, and Nancy Kiriacopoulos of Traverse City; two sisters, Nita DeLong of Gaylord and ESther Hood of Rochester; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
Three brothers, Elmer, Charles, and Robert; two sisters, Leona Avery and Martha Goodwill, and one great grandson preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tue, Mar 14, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. E. Dan Johnson officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
