Harry C Slentz, 83, 400 E North St, Eaton, died Wednesday in Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Blackford County and lived in the Trenton and Hartford City areas most of his life. He moved to Eaton in 1989.
He had worked for Overhead Door Corp in Hartford City, and he had owned and operated Harry’s Bar on Washington Street in Hartford City for 17 years, retiring in 1972.
He was a member of Apostolic Tabernacle.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Mae Adkins Slentz; a son, Harry Slentz Jr, Fort Cobb, OK; two daughters and a son in law, Madonna Stevens, and Carolyn and Harold Stover, all of Hartford City; three sisters, Marie Bellmore, Leesburg, FL, Hazel Spangler, Elkhart, and Ruth Flatter, Hartford City; two stepsons, Samuel L Cole, stationed with the Coast Guard in MI, and Billie Cole, Hartford City; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Daniel (Linda) Ramseyer and Vickie Noel Taylor, both of Eaton; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren; and a step great great grandson.
A brother, Samuel Lanning, and two sisters, Evelyn Templin and Mildred Slentz, are deceased.
Services will be at 2 pm Saturday in Apostolic Tabernacle, Hartford City. Burial will be in Trenton Cemetery, east of Hartford City.
Calling at Waters Funeral Home in Hartford City is 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm today and at the church after 1 pm Saturday.
