Harold W Goodfellows, 68, of Kalkaska, died Wed, Jan 24, 2001, at his home.
He was employed as a machinist at the Detroit News for 23 years prior to his retirement in 1994. He then moved to Kalkaska from Lincoln Park. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Kalkaska Moose Lodge No 2348, and the American Legion. His hobbies included gardening, golf, fishing, and wood working.
Mr. Goodfellow was born in Detroit on Jan 28, 1932, son of the late Wesley and Mary McCoy Goodfellow. On Sep 4, 1954, in Lincoln Park, he was united in marriage with Kathleen Gregory, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son David (Bridget) Goodfellow of Warren; daughter Marge Goodfellow of Lincoln Park; sister, Esther O'Droske of Ocala, FL; and granddaughters Dana and Ailisa.
Sisters Elizabeth Bencsik and Wilma Barnett preceded him in death.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated Jan 27 at St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Father Jim Holtz officiated. Interment will be in Oliver Township Cemetery in the spring.
