Harold E. Churchill, Sr, 76, of Kalkaska, died Thu, Oct 3, 1991 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mr. Churchill moved to Kalkaska in 1980 from Stockbridge. He was a Farmer, and retired as a crane operator for Jackson Steel Company in 1978. He was a member of The Peoples Church and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed and loved the people of Kalkaska.
Mr. Churchill was born in Lapeer County on Jul 13, 1915 to Roy and Mabel Clarkson Churchill. He was married to Lillian Wheatson and Olive Roberts, both of whom preceded hi in death. On Jul 14, 9184 in Kalkaska, he was married to Marian Sherwood who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Raymond Churchill of Leslie, Harold Churchill, Jr of Lantana, FL, and Tim Churchill of West Palm Beach, FL; six stepsons, Jerry Roberts, John Roberts, and Jim Roberts all of Chelsea, Norman Sherwood of Colorado Springs, CO, Sherman Sherwood of San Diego, CA, and Stephen Sherwood of Rapid City; one stepdaughter Barbara Mills of Lantana, FL; four sisters, Vena Williams of Bloomfield Hills, Merle Laidler of Lapeer, Nina Laidler of Pontiac, and Ilene Green of NM; one granddaughter and 21 step grandchildren.
Two brothers, Cary and Arthur, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Sun, Oct 6, 1991 at the Peoples Church in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
