Harold Boer died at home Fri, January 22, 1999.
He was born Apr 9, 1910, the youngest of five children born to Edward and Gertie Boer.
After graduating in 1928 from Grand Haven High School, he moved to Grand Rapids and attended Calvin College as a pre-law student. In 1936 he married Janet E. Wilbur. He was merchandising manager with Sun Oil Co. until he moved his family back to Grand Haven in 1953. He owned a hardware exporting goods store in Muskegon and later was a partner in a teacher supply company in Grand Rapids.
He enjoyed reading, gardening, golfing, traveling, and visiting with family and friends. He was an elder and active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters, Carol (John) Peterson of Saratoga, CA, Jane (David) Fontaine of Grand Haven, and Mary (Raul) Romero of Coral Springs, FL; son, Thomas (Marilyn) Boer of Kalamazoo; and daughter in law Linda Boer of Grand Haven; 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
