Mrs. Grace Tuffts, 84, of Kalkaska, died Fri, Oct 2, 1992 at Tendercare of Traverse City.
Mrs. Tufts lived in Kalkaska for many years prior to moving to Grand Rapids where she resided until 1977 when she returned to Kalkaska. She was a member of The Peoples Church.
Mrs. Tufts was born in Findlay, OH on Oct 7, 1907 to Aaron and Jessie Kissebeth Slupe. In 1941, she was married to Clifford Tuffts in Traverse City. He died on Dec 22, 1961.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Slupe and one step son, R.G. Tuffts.
Surviving are two daughters in law, Evelyn Slupe of Grand Rapids, and Edith Tuffts of Kalkaska; three grandchildren, Russ Slupe and bob Slupe both of Grand Rapids, and Mickey Cookingham of Kalkaska; four step grandchildren, Jimmie Tuffts of Kalkaska, Belva Parker of Gaylord, Verna Kirgis of NM, and Kurt Slupe of grand Rapids; and several great and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Mon, Oct 5, 1992 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges, pastor of The Peoples Church, officiated. Burial was in Oliver Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
