Grace I. Kuiawa, age 94, of Kalkaska, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Cherry Hill Haven of Kalkaska. She was born on October 2, 1916 in Milwaukee, WI to the late William and Mabel (Sauer) Koch.
Grace married Eugene Kuiawa on July 25, 1953 in Milwaukee. Grace and Eugene moved to Kalkaska in 1986 from Downer's Grove, IL. They were married for almost 44 years when he passed away in July of 1997.
Grace was a C.E.T.A. member and a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. She loved doing crafts and spending time with her family and friends. Grace will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leo and Joan Kuiawa of Kalkaska; her dear sister-in-law, Barbara Finco of Ironwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Eugene.
Visitation was held on Fri, Jul 1, 2011 from 5 to 8 pm with a Scripture Service at 7 pm at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral was on Sat at 11 am at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with Reverend Norman Dickson, SJ officiating. Burial followed in St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church Cemetery.
