Gordon Patrick Cooper, 90, passed away Mon, Jun 15, 2009, at his home in Kalkaska.
He was born Nov 11, 1918 in Wagoner, SD, to the late Charles F and Theodosia (Kowaleski) Cooper.
Gordon married the former Hilda K. Richter on Nov 12, 1946, in Warren, MI. He served his country honorably in the US Army during WWII and was present at the Battle of the Bulge.
Gordon has been a resident of Kalkasa since 1981. He was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and fishing.
Gordon is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Hilda; his dear sister, Katherine Stefonski of WI; his brother in law; his sister in law and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister.
A memorial service for Gordon will be held Thu, Jun 18, 2009, at 11 am at St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church,k with Rev Peter Eke officiating. Arrangements were made by Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home.
