Gordon A. Rhoat, 65, of Kalkaska, died May 22, 1998, at his home.
Gordon had been a lifelong resident of Kalkaska, and was employed in oil field construction prior to his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed fishing, woodcutting, and the outdoors.
Born in Kalkaska on Jun 18, 1932, he was the son of Daniel and Dorothy Bennett Rhoat. On Aug 30, 1961, in Green Bay, WI, he married Linda Schmidt, who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by sons Gordon D (Donna) Rhoat of Kalkaska and John E. Rhoat of Florida; daughters Amy M (Craig Cherven) Rhoat of Kalkaska and Ann L (Todd) Newberry of Kingsley; sister Betty (Dale) Bogart of Kalkaska; and grandchildren Daniel Scott, Shanda and Amber Rhoat.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Max Tracey officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
