Goldie (Kasmer) Brown, 88, of Kalkaska, passed away suddenly at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City on Sat, Nov 29, 2008.
She was born in New York on Oct 6, 1920, and later moved to Bloomfield Connecticut. She married Paul Brown on Dec 24, 1944. They would spend 64 years together before Paul's death on Nov 26, 2005.
While living in Connecticut, Goldie worked for 25 years as a secretary in the guidance office at the high school. In 1978, Goldie and her husband moved to Michigan.
She has resided in Kalkaska for the last six years. Goldie worked as a volunteer at Munson Hospital, alongside her husband, for over 10 years, and most recently, volunteered her time at the Kalkaska Commission on Aging. She loved reading, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Laurence (Mary) Brown of Rochester, NH, her daughter, Marsha (Brown) (Ken) Peebles of Kalkaska; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, and a brother.
Services will be held at 11:30 am Thu, Dec 4 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. Burial will be in Oakwood Jewish Cemetery.
