Glenn Gustave Starkey, 84, a machine operator from Honor, died Monday morning at home.
A former Mount Clemens resident, he moved to Benzie County in 1932.
Born in Mount Clemens on Sep 28, 1906, he was the son of Gustave and Ruth (Simms) Starkey. In Traverse City he married the former Elsie Wilson Kuerth, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Dale (Virginia) Cooper of Walkerville, Mrs. James (Mildred) Hawkins of Lapeer, Mrs. Ken (Laurel Sue) Rose of North Branch and Mrs. Nate (Lois) Rober of Honor; a son, Robert Starkey of Milford, Del; a brother, Paul Starkey of Mount Clemens; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Sarkey; and a stepdaughter, Karen Brown.
Services will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Bennett-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Beulah. The Rev. David Whittum will officiate. Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens, Traverse City.
Friends may visit from 2 for 4 and 7 to 9pm today and from 6 to 0 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
