Glen D. Roote, 68, of Dearborn Heights, died Sat, Feb 25, 1995, at Garden City Osteopathic Hospital.
Mr. Roote had resided in Dearborn Heights since 1950. He worked for many years a roofer and siding installer, and retired in 1991 from Precision Steel Company in Detroit. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Mr. Roote was born in Kalkaska County on Aug 4, 1926, to William and Jennie Ramey Roote. He was married, in Kalkaska, on May 24, 1948, to Vera Morris who survives.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Sandra Barron and Glenda Roote both of Dearborn Heights, and Connie Orta of Lincoln Park; two sons Kevin Roote of Dearborn Heights, and John Roote of Kalkaska; one brother, Edward Roote of Fife Lake; one sister, Nellie Marlett of Florida; and eight grandchildren.
One brother, Bennie and three sisters, Edna, Dorothy, and Irene, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tue, Feb 28, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges, pastor of the Peoples Church officiated.
