Glen A. Turnipseed, Sr., 75, of Rapid City, died Sat, Sep 30, 1995, at Munson Medical Center. 

Mr. Turnipseed spent his early years in Kalkaska County and then moved to Belmont. He returned to the area in 1980, following his retirement from General Motors Diesel Equipment in Grand Rapids. He served with the U.S. Army during WW 2, and enjoyed woodworking. 

He was born in Midland on Apr 15, 1920. On Oct 20, 1941, in Muskegon he married Grace A. Finney who preceded him in death on Nov 22, 1977. 

Also preceding him in death were his parents, Alfred and Florence Ball Turnipseed and two brothers, Lyle and Richard Foreman. 

Surviving are one son, Glen A. Turnipseed Jr of Mancelona; two brothers, Cecil Foreman of Detroit and Murray Turnipseed of Kalkaska; two sisters, Alice Pratt of St. Charles and Anna Joyce Mason of Flushing; his dear companion, Vera Moran of Alden; and two grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Mark McCool pastor of the Antrim Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska County with graveside services under the auspices of the Land O'Lakes Post 8684 V.F.W.
