Mrs. Gladys E. Schlubatis, 95, of Kalkaska, formerly of Fife Lake, died Tue, Aug 12, 1997, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Schlubatis moved to Kalkaska County from Battle Creek in 1952, and owned and operated the Northern Grill until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and crocheting.
She was born in Edenville on Apr 20, 1902, daughter of the late Stephen and Pearl Showerman Patten. She married Theodore Schlubatis in Battle Creek on Sep 10, 1947. He preceded her in death on Jun 11, 1975.
Surviving are a son James Burgess of Fife Lake; sisters Ila Maisner of Marshall and Eva Freeman of Dade City, FL; and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A son, Harold Burgess, preceded her in death.
Graveside services were held Saturday at Garfield Township Cemetery. Rev. Charles Stanley officiated.
