Gertrude Vipond Lantz, 85, passed away Sat, Jul 24, 2004, at 10:30 pm at her home.
She was born May 3, 1919, in South Rockwood, the daughter of Chris and Alba (Bachman) Nolff. She married Robert J Vipond on Apr 5, 1941, and Wayne Lantz on Sep 7, 1991. Both preceded her in death.
Gertrude spent most of her life living in Kalkaska County, working many years as a homemaker, as a sales representative for Yankee Homes and as the nutritional director for the Kalkaska County Commission on Aging.
She was a member of the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church of Bradneton, FL.
Gertrude loved spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. She always maintained a happy outlook, for which she will be fondly remembered.
Gertrude is survived by her three sons, Rev. Fraser (Diana) Vipond of Bradenton, FL, Douglas Vipond, and Jim (Diann) Vipond both of Kalkaska; one brother, Dwight Nolff of Little Mountain, SC; six grandchildren, Todd Vipond of Traverse City, Stephanie Sekura of Dayton, TN, Darcie Thomas of Ft Myers, FL, Sasha Miller of Kalkaska, Chris Vipond of Brandenton, FL, and Somer Vipond of Kalkaska and four great grandchildren, Ben, Allison, Chloe, and Mia.
The funeral service was held on Wed, Jul 28, at the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church, with the Rev. Fraser Vipond, the Rev. William Kuiper, and the Rev. Dave Sckura officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by the Wolfe Funeral Home of Kalkaska.
