Geraldine Ruth Pierce, 90, passed away at her home in Kalkaska, Aug 15, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Geraldine was born Jul 27, 1920, in Farmington, to the late Floyd and Bertha (Ostrander) Schroeder. She was raised in Plymouth, and later married Charles Pierce in 1936.
Geraldine retired from Plymouth Bowl in 1970 and moved to Kalkaska where she worked as a cook at the Variety Table for many years. Geraldine loved to drive down back country roads looking for deer, mushrooms, leeks, wild blackberries, huckleberries, and fruit trees to make jam.
Geraldine is survived by children, Bev Slyfield of Kalkaska, Chuck (Pat) Pierce of Webberville; 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and brothers, Donald (Louise) Schroeder of Plymouth and Leon Schroeder of Tuscon, AZ.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Charles; children, Barb Lash, Charlotte Pierce, Samuel Pierce, Butch Pierce; brothers, Floyd Schroeder, Robert (Adrian) Schroder; sisters, Mary Jane Stanley, Dorothy Perkins, and Shirley Bassett.
The visitation will be Aug 18 from 6 to 9 pm at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 1 pm on Thu, Aug 19 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
