Gerald Dewey, 81, of Attica, previously of Harrietta, MI, passed away Fri, apr 30, 2010 at Lapeer Regional Medical Center.
Gerald Wesley Dewey was born on Feb 16, 1929 in Imlay City. He was the son of Harold and Etta Dewey. He grew up in Imlay City. Gerald is a 1947 graduate of Imlay City High School.
He married Jean Ludwig on Feb 25, 1978 in Port Huron.
Gerald retired after 30 years in 1978 with Pontiac Motors, a Division of General Motors at Engine Plant #9.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Jean dewey of Attica; children, Duane (Renee) Dewey of Cottonwood, AZ and Debra (Mark) Makedonsky of Imlay City; stepchildren, Barbara (John) O’Neal of Imlay City, Bill (Teresa) Case of Imlay City, Jerry (Bernie) Case of Imlay City, David (Debra) Case of Lapeer, and Bryan (Kelly) Case of Lapeer; six grandchildren, David, Michael, Jessica, Michelle, Morgan and Matt; eight stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren and four step great grandchildren; brother Richard (Evelyn) Dewey of Imlay City; sisters, Barbara Larsen of Sandusky and Carolann (Bill) LeSage of Imlay City.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Etta Dewey; son, Randy Dewey in 1978; granddaughter Marcia Dewey and a brother, Gordon Dewey.
Funeral services were held 11am Tue, May 4, 2010 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City. Pastor Alan Casillas Pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Imlay City officiated. Burial followed at Imlay Township Cemetery.
