Gerald James Watts, 82, of Kalkaska, passed away on Sun, Sep 19, 2010 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center-LTC. He was born on Jul 7, 1928 in Wyandotte to the late Harold and Vivian (Robidioux) Watts.
Gerald was a WWII Veteran serving our country in the US Air Force. He married Vivian Brown on Aug 14 1951, in Yuma, AZ. Gerald worked for Detroit Edison for 35 years when he retired. Together, he and Vivian moved from St Clair Shores to Kalkaska in 1987. Gerald loved giving his grandchildren tractor rides and camping with the family.
Gerald was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus as of 1961 and belonged to the fourth degree, a member of the American Legion, a Scout Master for 10 years, and an active member of St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
Surviving Gerald is his wife, Vivian; their children, Rusty and Fran, Kathy and Steve Horvath, Richard, Susan Goldsborough, Murl and Kellie, Joyce, Micahel, and Jeanette, and Patricia; 15 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his son, Duane; and his siblings, Harold Jr and Missell.
Visitation will be on Thu, Sep 23 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm with a scripture service at 7 pm at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am at St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with REverend Norm Dickson officiating. Burial will be at Excelsior Township Cemetery.
