Gerald F. "Jerry" Baker, 85, of Rapid city, died Wed, Jun 10, 1992 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Baker resided in Detroit until 22 years ago when he moved to Kalkaska County. He had been employed at the Chevrolet Central Office for 40 years prior to his retirement in 1968. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Detroit and the Cherryland Radio Club. He was a former member of the Firebird Radio Club in Detroit.
Mr. Baker was born in Empire on Mar 13, 1907, to Charles and Nettie Holmes Baker. On Jun 27, 1929, in Saginaw, he was united in marriage with Mildred Putnam who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gerald Baker Jr of Troy, and Ronald Baker of Bloomfield Hills; one daughter, Mrs. Richard C. (Beverly) Spaulding of Elkhart, IN; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Leonard of Flushing; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the chapel of Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint Mon, Jun 15, 1992. Rev. Gary Sanderson, pastor of the Flushing United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kalkasaka Memorial Health Center Long Term Care Unit or the charity of ones choice.
