Gerald E. Edlund, 63, of Kalkaska died Thu, Feb 28, 1991 at Mercy Hospital in Grayling.
Mr. Edlund was a tool and die maker at Capital Tool & Die Company in Detroit prior to his retirement in 1971. He moved to Kalkaska County where he operated Berkshire Grocery at Blue Lake until 1977 when he returned to Detroit. He moved back to Kalkaska County in 1988. Mr. Edlund served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps during WWII, and was a former member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Born in Detroit on Sep 3, 1927, he was the son of the late Edward and Eleanor LaRang Edlund. On Nov 4, 1950, in Detroit, he was married to Joan Scholz who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ronald Edlund and Craig Edlund both of Kalkaska; one daughter, Lori Natswold of Redford; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sun, Mar 3, 1991, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Dick Riley, pastor of the Kalkaska United Methodist Church, officiated. Cremation followed the funeral services.
