Gerald A. Cross, 79, of Kalkaska, passed away April 22, 2011, at Munson Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Gerald was born February 15, 1932, in Kalkaska, to the late Guy and Irene (Nash) Cross.
Gerald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Dura Automotive Systems Inc. after 32 years of service to enjoy his hobby of bird watching and just being home. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children Richard A. (Karla) Cross of Mayville, Donna I. (Tim) Rasmussen of Newaygo, Mary L. (Larry) Anderson and Anna M. (John) Booth of Kalkaska, eighteen grandchildren and a great grandson. He is also survived by his brother Lawrence (Donna) Cross of Sun City, CA.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and by his son Bruce in 1983.
Visitation for Gerald will be at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Kalkaska Baptist Church, Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Walter Skrine will be officiating. Burial will be in Excelsior Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Gerald's honor may be given to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan 1169 Oak Valley Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48108. Arrangements were made by Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home in Kalkaska, our family serving yours.
