George Washington Stuck, a former resident of Gladwin, died December 15, 1929, at Georgetown, Delaware, of pernicious anemia.
Mr. Stuck was born February 24, 1862, at Seneca Falls, NY, and was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Stuck. When but a small boy he came with his parents to Lyons, OH, where he spent his boyhood. He was married Jul 4, 1885, to Miss Marinda J. Matkins. Two children were born to them, Welcome, who died May 3, 1906, and Goldie, who lives in New Jersey.
In 1895, he came to Gladwin with his brother, William, and located on a farm near Round Lake where he and his family lived until 1912, when he sold his farm and moved to Pocomoke City, MD. Mr. Stuck took an active interest in civil affairs and held many offices of trust. Three years ago he converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal church and has since lived the right life. He has passed on to wait only a little while in that beautiful city of gold for the loved ones left here and where they will all be reunited.
In 1925, he married, Mrs. Catherine E. Craig of Chatham, Ontario, sister of Mrs. Amanda J. Atchinson and the late George E. Wood, who died September 4, 1929. Mrs. Stuck has been doubly bereaved in the past three months. He is survived by his wife, daughter, five sisters, and three brothers, Mrs. Margaret Cain, Mrs. Ella Hilliard, Mrs. Dora Darrell, and Mrs. Hattie Reis of Weston, MI, and Mrs. Cora Bundy of Santa Monica, CA, Henry Stuck, and Estle Stuck of Detroit, and William C. Stuck of Gladwin.

A quartet composed of John Capling, Mrs. Carrie Capling, Mrs. Eva Bender, and W.F. Bollert sang for the services. Rev. Whitney officiated. The body was laid to rest in the Ridge Cemetery.
