George W. Pare, 75, of Kalkaska, died Sun, Nov 20, 1994, at Traverse City Community Hospital.
Mr. Pare had been a resident of Kalkaska for the past 20 years, after moving from Detroit. He was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, and had been a reserve deputy in Kalkaska County for the past 19 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his friends.
He was born on Aug 12, 1919, in Detroit, to Paul and Agnes Trombley Pare. He married Arvella Hannula, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, William Pare of Hartland and Peter Pare of Kalkaska; three daughters, Kathleen Groves of Canton, janette Gillespie of Livonia and Carol Pare of Inkster; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Nov 23, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Father Patrick J Barrett officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Michigan Cancer Foundation or to a Child Abuse Prevention Association of one's choice.
