George Eben Elliott, Sr., 51, of Grand Rapids, died Thu, Jan 7, 1993 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Mr. Elliott had resided in Grand Rapids for the past 39 years, and had been employed by Guardsman Products. He graduated from Godwin High School in 1960, and received an associates degree from Davenport College. Mr. Elliott served for six years in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of Amvets Post 23, American Legion Post 208, and the V.F.W. He enjoyed local history and playing the steel guitar. 

Mr. Elliott was born in Rapid City on Nov 1, 1941, to Wilford and Alida Van Elliott. On Jun 10, 1961, in Wyoming, he was married to Sandra Jean Cross who survives. 

Also surviving are two sons, George Elliott II, and his wife Rhonda and Mark Elliott and his wife, Tami, all of Cutlerville; one daughter, Mrs. Nathan (Kimberly) Price of Cutlerville; five brothers, Bazil and wife, Phyllis Elliott and Daniel and wife, Ann Elliott all of Muskegon, Joseph Elliott of Rapid City, Keith Tyler and wife Mary of Grand Rapids, and Steven Tyler and wife Connie of Manistee; his step father, Merton Tyler of Rapid City; his father in law, Chester Cross of FL; and seven grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held Tue, Jan 12, 1993, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska Jerry Leazenby, pastor of the Rapid City Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Clearwater Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County, under the auspices of Land O'Lakes VFW Post 8684.
