George E. Groner, 69, of Kalkaska, died early Friday morning, Mar 26, 1993, at his residence.
Mr. Groner spent his early years in Kalkaska, and return here 19 years ago from Holly. He was a retired operating engineer, and enjoyed hunting, woodcraft, and snow plowing. He served in the U.S. Army during WW2, and was a member of Land O'Lakes Post 8684, V.F.W., the Moose Lodge, and A.M.L.
Born in Kalkaska County on April 25, 1923, George was the son of Irvin and Bertha Potter Groner. On Mar 11, 1972, in Clarkston, he was married to Linda Jensen who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, George R. Groner of South Boardman; five daughters, Sharon Gray of Mt. Clemens, Phyllis Mowatt of Detroit, Kimberly Simmon of Houston, TX, Lynne Rudolph of Kalkaska, and Cynthia Groner of AZ; four sisters, Dorothy Thornburg of TX, Bernice Hess of Inkster, Beatrice Andrews of Muskegon, and Margie Davis of Ludington; and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry, Burton, and Devere Groner; and one sister, Hazel Lutz.
Memorial services were held Sun, Mar 28, 1993, at the Land O'Lakes V.F.W. Hall.
