Gary Lee Zundel, 61, of Kalkaska, died Wed, Sep 8, 1999, at Manistee Lake.
Gary resided in Pinellas Park, FL, until two years ago when he moved to Kalkaska. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, and was a former Detroit police officer. He later owned and operated Duffy's of Charlevoix. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and golfing.
Born in Detroit on Dec 29, 1937, he is the son of Edward and Vivian Hansen Zundel. On Oct 24, 1959, in Detroit, he married Gloria Zancanero, who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by children Michele Baker of Naples, FL, Kelly Zundel of Bonita Springs, FL, Sharon Zundel of Pinellas Park FL, and Patrick Zundel of Kentwood; mother Vivian Zundel of Kalkaska; sister Sharon Eichstadt of Glen Lake;a nd grandchildren Emily and Dillon Zundel, Robbie and Patrick Baker, and Erin and Lauren Zundel.
Memorial services were Sep 12 at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Rev. Charles Stanley officiated.
