Gale W. Hooton, 84, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Jan 25, 1997, at his residence.
Mr. Hooton moved to Kalkaska County in 1980 from Tecumseh. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a petroleum distributor.
He served as a Tecumseh volunteer fireman for 21 years, and was a member of the Eagles, Tecumseh Masonic Lodge, Royal Arch Masons, and the Tecumseh Club.
Born in Tecumseh on May 27, 1912, he was the son of Charles and Ethel O'Hara Hooton. On Jun 16, 1934, in Tecumseh, he was united in marriage with Esther Howe who preceded him in death on Jun 14, 1983.
Surviving are sons Douglas (Tammy) Hooton of Shelby Township and Larry (Marge) Hooton of Juneau; AK; his loving companion Marie Keaton of Kalkaska; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
One brother, Donald Hooton, preceded him in death.
Masonic services were held Tuesday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska under the auspices of East Bay Lodge 264 F&AM. Burial will bein Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh.
