Mr. Gail Martin Belcher, 64, of Duluth, MN, died Jul 24, 1998, in St. Luke's Hospital.
He was born in Kalkaska and had resided in Duluth since 1955.
Mr. Belcher was employed as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Barker's Island Yacht Club, and the National Association of Letter carriers. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He loved sailing, his family, and friends. He battled diabetes for many years before succumbing to the disease.
He was preceded in death by wife Katie (Kanult) Belcher, parents Harold and Florence Belcher; and brother Harold.
Survivors include his son Steve (Lois) Belcher of Duluth; grandchildren Amanda and Nathanial; sisters Harriet (Robert) Guyot of Traverse City, and Beverly (Bob) Wells of Houston, TX; brother Larry (Linda) Belcher of Williamsburg, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were held Jul 28 in Bell Brothers Chapel. Burial was in Sunrise Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Foundation.
