Freeman (Butch) G. Phillips Sr., 52, of Alden, died Wed, Mar 3, 1993 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Phillips had been a resident of the Kalkaska and Alden area since 1971. He was employed as a shop foreman at the Kalkaska County Road Commission. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Air Force.
He was born on Feb 25, 1941, in Petoskey, to Freeman and Eudora Gilbert Phillips. On Nov 7, 1970, in Okemos, he married Gayle Kasuske, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Freeman Phillips Jr. of Alden; three daughters, Dora Hudson of FL, Belinda Poli of Mancelona, and Crystal Phillips at home; one step son, Terry Kasuske of Ionia; two step daughters, Denise D'Alessandro of FL and Lori Meeks of of FL; five brothers, Edgar Phillips of Alpena, Waldron Phillips of Petoskey, Douglas Phillips of Brutus, Lee Phillips of Grand Rapids, and Ralph Phillips of Charlotte; one sister, Sister Mary Andrew of Chicago; four grandchildren and five step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Phillips.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm, Sat, Mar 13, 1993 at the Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. Rev. Dick Riley will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
