Frederick Myles Murphy, age 73, passed away peacefully in his Chesaning home on Mon, Dec 30, 2019.
Fred was born Sep 28, 1946 to Noreen Cecilia (Brakel) Murphy and Myles Patrick Murphy in Traverse City, where he was raised with his beloved siblings, Terry (Judy) Murphy, Dianne Murphy-Kilbourne, Maureen (Roger) Ruiz, and Patricia Murphy (deceased).
Fred attended St. Francis High School, graduating with the class of 1965.
Fred married Kathleen Mary (Bauer) Murphy in 1966. Together they raised three incredible children, Kim (Ben) Romes, of Swartz Creek, Frederick Jr (Holly) Murphy of Montrose, and Tony (Amy) Murphy of Gaines Township. Fred and Kathy were also the very proud and loving grandparents to eight amazing grandchildren, Frederick Murphy III, Jeremey and Amanda Hillier, Ben and Brittany Romes and Charlie, Evie, and Audrey Murphy.
Fred worked for General Motors in Plant 36 as a pipefitter from 1965 until his retirement in 1995. He farmed and asold Christmas trees with his family and enjoyed woodworking during his free time. He was a beloved friend to many and will be missed greatly.
His family will receive visitors at Misiuk Funeral Home, 202 South Front St, Chesaning, MI 48616 on Sun, Jan 5, 2020, from 2 to 8 pm and Mon, Jan 6, from 10 to 11 am. A memorial service will be held on Mon, Jan 6 at 11 am at the funeral home. A light lunch will follow.
