Freda M. Bavin, 91, of Union City, passed away Mon, May 6, 2012 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born Mar 6, 1922 in Kalkaska, MI to Frank C. and Julia I. (Drake) Motz.
Freda is survived by a son; Larry (Nell) Kleehammer, daughter, Rose Marie Hoffman, son: Steven (Carol) Bavin, Daugther; Carol Ann Forslund, daughter, Joyce (Joe) Fierke, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Ora Bavin, her parents, a son; Cleo Kleehammer, infant brother, Cleo Motz, a brother, Gary Motz and a son in law, Raymond A. Hoffman III.
Freda was a good mother, wife and grandmother. She was a good cook and enjoyed camping, traveling, family reunions and get togethers. Freda believed in education. She loved cats, her entire family and sacrificed for the benefit of her children. She was a beautician and also worked at the Dime Store in Union City. During WWII she was a ‘Rosie Riveter’ at the Willow Run Bomb Factory.
Funeral services will be held on May 10, 2013 at 12pm with two hours of visitation prior to the service at the Putman Funeral Home in Union City with Pastor Karen Nachtigall of the First Congregational United Church of Christ officiating.
Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Union City.
