Frank John Klassen, age 73, of Grayling, MI passed away on Mar 16, 2017. Frank was born in Gladwin on Jun 5, 1943, a son of the late Ella Mae (Foote) and Frank Klassen.
Frank married Leah Carol Blakeslee on Jul 30, 1962 in Corry, PA. They were married for 51 years before she preceded him in death in 2014. Frank was a member of Houghton Lake Wesleyan Church and attended Grayling Free Methodist Church where he actively served. Frank was a pastor that walked and lived his faith on a daily basis. Over the years he and his family served in many church mission assignments and he was mindful of any opportunity to serve as he walked through his day to day activities. Frank enjoyed his family and in the most recent years, his great grand daughters, Leah and Lily.
He is survived by daughters: Carla Sue Gardner of Grayling, MI and Kelly Lynne Klassen of Eaton Rapids, MI; grandson, Timothy (Christina) Gardner Jr.; great granddaughters: Leah Elizabeth and Lily Marie of Grayling; siblings, Aaron (Kathy) Klassen, Toby (JoAnn) Klassen, Avis (Marvin) Blowers, Gary Klassen, Beth (Paul) Klassen, and Vern (Suzanne) Klassen; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ella Mae and Frank Klassen; infant son, Frank John Klassen Jr; daughter Rhonda Kay Klassen; wife, Leah Klassen; brother, Fred Klassen, and sister in law, Lenore Klassen.
Visitation was held at Sorenson Lockwood Funeral Home on Mon, Mar 20, 2017 between 2 to 8pm. Visitation was held beginning at 11am on Tue, Mar 21, 2017 at Grayling Free Methodist Church up until time of “Frank’s Home Going Celebration”, which began at 2pm, with Pastor Robert Marshall officiating. Interment will be at Butman Township Cemetery in Gladwin.
