Frances M. Devine, 89, a longtime resident of Kalkaska, died Tue, Mar 14, 2000 at her home.
In her early years, Mrs. Devine resided in Illinois where she worked as secretary to the Wire Chief at the Rogers Park District Office of Illinois Bell Telephone. she moved to Kalkaska in 1950. she was a member of CETA and St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. She enjoyed crafts.
Mrs. Devine was born in Chicago on Apr 16, 1910, to Edward and Catherine Boyle McHale. On Feb 11, 1950, in Wilmette, IL, she was married to Cornelius Devine, who survives.
Besides her husband, she is survived by son Robert (Catherine) Devine of West Branch; daughter Mrs. Maureen (Jerry) Hayes of Grayling; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Mar 18 at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church; Fr. Jim Holtz served as celebrant. Interment followed in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery.
Friends called at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska and St. Mary of the Woods on Mar 17. A wake service was held at the church.
