Florine (Fegan) Wade, 99, of Kenosha, WI, passed away Thu, Jun 23, 2005 at Brookside Care Cienter. Born Feb 21, 1906 in Dafter, MI, she was the daughter of the late Meredith and Eva (Hill) Fegan.
She came to Kenosha after the death of her mother to live with her maternal grandparents, the Ludlow L. Hill Family, owners of the Hill Steamboat Line.
She graduated from Kenosha High School in 1925. She graduated from Kenosha Hospital School of Nursing in 1928.
In Aug 1931, she married Elmer Wade. He died Jul 12, 1989.
For many years she worked at Kenosha and St. Catherine’s Hospital, and in home nursing as a private duty nurse. Later for several years she worked at Willowbrook Tuberculosis Sanitarium.
She was a member of the alumni association of the Kenosha Hospital School of Nursing. Florine enjoyed doing needlework, traveling, classical music, and world news events.
Surviving are a son, Robert Wade, and a daughter Susan (D. Boyd) Horsley, both of Kenosha, and a brother, John Needham Fegan of Federal Way, WA. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Paul Wade, Nancy Lehrke, and David Horsley, of Kenosha, Thomas Horsley, Sister Bay, WI, and Susanne Johns, Greenville, SC; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Fegan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30am on Mon, Jun 27 at Proko Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at 10am until the time of the services at Proko Funeral Home. Memorial remembrances to the Kenosha Visiting Nurses Association, and Brookside Care Center would be greatly appreciated by the family.
