Mrs. Florence Ruby, 86, of Kalkaska, died Feb 21, 2001, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
She was born in Huron County on Mar 15, 1914, daughter of the late Elgin and Lottie Harder Ruby. On Jan 17, 1934, in Sebawaing she was united in marriage with David Ruby. He died on Jul 31, 1988.
Mrs. Ruby resided in Detroit until 1957, when she moved to Kalkaska. She had employed at the Kalkaska Public Schools, and was an active member of Evergreen Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
Surviving are daughters, Nancy (Gerald) Washburn of Prudenville and Norma (Elton) Hendershot of Kalkaska; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Nelson Harder; brothers, Floyd and Elgain; and sister, June.
Funeral services were Feb 23, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Pastor William Kuiper officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
